- AMITA VERMA LUCKNOW, NOV. 6

Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said that the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh was worsening by the day and said that if the BJP came to power, it would review all false cases that have been lodged against various sections of the society, including farmers.

Mr Singh, while flagging off the BJP’s second Parivartan Yatra from Jhansi on Sunday, said that in the past two-and-a-half years of the Modi government, there had not been a single corruption charge against the government.

He said Bundelkhand had remained steeped in backwardness because the state governments in UP had not solved the water problem in the region.

“The BJP will solve the water problem in Bundelkhand within 5-10 years if given a chance,” he said.

BJP president Amit Shah, while addressing the rally, said that the Modi government introduces new schemes every 15 days, but the Samajwadi Party spends time in fighting because they cannot decide who will inherit Mulayam Singh Yadav’s political legacy.

He called upon the people to vote out the cycle of SPBSP governments that has pushed the state behind in

The BJP president said that the BJP would ensure rapid development of Uttar Pradesh, but the people must give the party a twothird majority so that there are no impediments in governance.

He said that the Centre had been sending money to Uttar Pradesh, but the state governments were diverting funds and as a result, the benefits were not percolating down to the beneficiaries.

Mr Shah said that if illegal mining in the state was stopped, Bundelkhand would be the main beneficiary.

Union minister Kalraj Misra, in his speech, also claimed that the Samajwadi family was not concerned about development of Bundelkhand and promoted goonda raj instead.
