A 25-year-old businessman became a victim of road rage and was shot dead in East Delhi. The victim, identified as Deepak Bhadana, a resident of Faridabad, Haryana, was reportedly shot after his Innova hit a Ford Endeavour SUV in New Ashok Vihar area on Sunday night.

He was reportedly shot in the head from point blank range and died on the spot.

Mr Bhadana was returning home after attending his nephew’s wedding in Kondli village on Sunday. Along with five other relatives, he had hired an Innova car.

While narrating the unfortunate incident, one of his relatives said, “When he and the other relatives reached the Timber market at the Dallupura village, their vehicle allegedly brushed against Yashpal’s vehicle, following which the duo entered into an argument. When the vehicles brushed against each other, Deepak allegedly got out of his car and started arguing with the driver of the other car. It was evident that the driver was in an inebriated state.”

The relative said that when Deepak went back inside the vehicle, the driver of the other vehicle, who was allegedly Yashpal, pulled down his window, took out a revolver and shot Deepak at point blank range. He added, “There was no chance that Deepak could have survived. He was hit in the head behind his ear. He died on the spot. The accused fled in his vehicle before anyone could stop him.” According to the sources, a team of local police arrested the accused, Yashpal Singh (28), from Noida Sector 25 on Monday. Yashpal had fled the crime scene in his SUV bearing a Uttarakhand registration number. Mr Bhadana had gotten married five months ago. He was the sole earner in his family. His father died over two years ago. He was the eldest among five siblings in the house. He took up the responsibility of looking after the rest of the family after his father died. He also arranged the marriages of his two sisters and was also taking care of the education of two of his brothers.
