Student, 24, killed in Noida E-way mishap

A 24-year-old medical student was killed and his coursemate injured in a road mishap near Safipur village on Nodia Expressway on Sunday night.

The incident took place late on Sunday night at 11.30 pm when Shubham Nag and Aryan Dhillon (25), both medical students of Sharda University, were travelling in a car towards Greater Noida. Nag was driving his Honda Jazz car when he allegedly lost control over the vehicle and it overturned after hitting a divider, and Dhillon, sitting next to driver, was critically injured.

“Dhillon suffered severe injuries to his rib cage and is in a critical state. He is being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Sharda Hospital,” said a police official. “They might have been speeding on the expressway and lost control of the vehicle on Expresway near Sector 150. Their vehicle skidded at a curve and overturned several times before hitting the divider,” said Manish Kumar Sharma, the station house officer of Knowledge Park police station.

He added that after the impact of the accident was huge that the air bags also could not save their lives.

Nag and Dhillon were in the car and were on their way to the university campus when the incident took place. The two have completed their four-year MBBS course and were doing their internship.

Nag is from Himachal Pradesh and Dhillion from Chandigarh. Their families have been informed of the incident. Nag was driving the vehicle and Dhillon was seated in the front with him. The vehicle was severely damaged.
