Para athletes bag 3 golds in Dubai meet
New Delhi: India’s para athletes have bagged eight medals, including three gold, at the ongoing 9th Fazza International IPC Athletics Grand Prix in Dubai. With three gold, one silver and four bronze medals till the second day of competitions on Wednesday, India are seventh out of 48 participating countries, according to the Paralympic Committee of India. Sundar Singh Gurjar won a gold each in the men’s javelin throw F-46 and discus throw F-46 competitions. The 21-year-old, who lost his left hand in an accident two years ago, had a best of 60.33m in javelin throw F-46, a whopping 11m more than the second best. He recorded 44.56m in the discus throw F-46. The third gold was bagged by Narender Ranbir in men’s javelin throw F-44 with an effort of 47.75m.
