Resident doctors of AIIMS met new director, Randeep Guleria on Sunday and discussed with him about the issue of violence against doctors.

Dr Guleria was appointed as the new director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Friday.

“We met and discussed the issue of violence against doctors with our director in person. He agreed to the fact that this nonsense must be stopped now and most of the attacks on doctors are due to one or the other infrastructure lapses in hospital so we will try to fill up these lacunae in hospitals,” said Dr Vijay Gurjar, the president of Resident Doctors Association (RDA), AIIMS.

The director assured the doctors that he will discuss this issue with the government officials.

“RDA AIIMS is optimistic about his vision and grateful to the Prime Minister for choosing him for this dignified position. He is really concerned about the problems of the resident doctors, like fixing duty hours, providing accommodations, and increasing the time for research and academics,” said Dr Gurjar.
