CHUCK BERRY

Rock n’ Roll legend Chuck Berry has died at the age of 90. Berry, a guitarist and singer, was known for such hits as ‘Roll over Beethoven’ and ‘Sweet Little Sixteen’ in the 1950s and 60s and helped shape the genre of Rock n' Roll. John Lennon famously had declared long ago: “If you tried to give rock’n’roll another name, you might call it Chuck Berry”.

HOSNI MUBARAK

Hosni Mubarak, Egypt’s ousted president was on Friday freed from a military hospital after six years in custody over charges of killing over 200 protesters during the 2011 Arab Spring uprising that toppled him. 88-year-old Mubarak left the Maadi Military Hospital in southern Cairo and went to his home in the northern suburb of Heliopolis.

SHAH RUKH KHAN

The ED has issued a notice to actor Shah Rukh Khan, his wife Gauri, actor-friend Juhi Chawla for alleged loss of `73.6 crore foreign exchange in a FEMA case related to the T-20 cricket league IPL. The agency has also issued notice to Knight Riders Sports Pvt. Ltd. which owns the IPL team of Kolkata Knight Riders. The notice has been issued for the sale of some shares of KRSPL to a Mauritius-based firm at a cost lower than their “actual value”.

NAVJOT SINGH SIDHU

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Thursday said his cabinet colleague Navjot Singh Sidhu should be allowed to do the television show, if that is his main source of income. The minister currently is seen as a celebrity guest on The Kapil Sharma Show. Punjab’s Advocate General Atul Nanda too said Sidhu can continue as a celebrity-judge on a popular TV comedy show and there is no conflict of interest in it.

VIRAT KOHLI

Ajinkya Rahane became India’s 33rd Test captain after injured Virat Kohli was ruled out of the fourth and deciding Test against Australia. Kohli suffered a shoulder injury while fielding in the Ranchi Test match. He had said on Friday that he will only play he is hundred percent fit but had admitted that there is every chance of the injury being aggravated during fielding.
