Galaxy S8 has the best display: DisplayMate
Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, the two smartphones slated to ship on April 21, have screens that have been rated as the best ever on a smartphone, according to industry’s screen testing company DisplayMate Technologies. DisplayMate Technologies, a research firm which regularly tests and grades display panels on smartphones, has published its analysis report on Samsung’s flagship smartphone concluding it has the “most innovative and high performance smartphone display that have ever been lab tested.”
“The Galaxy S8 is the first in a new generation of OLED smartphones that have a full screen display design,” DisplayMate said in its report. “It has many major and important state-of-the-art display performance enhancements, features and functions, with mobile OLED display technology now advancing faster than ever. The Galaxy S8 is the most innovative and high performance Smartphone display that we have ever lab tested. So the Galaxy S8 becomes the Best Performing Smartphone Display, earning DisplayMate’s highest ever A+ grade,” the report reads.
The report produced by the firm also pointed out: larger 5.8-inch full screen display, aspect ratio of 18:5, 3K higher resolution 2960 x 1440 quad HD+ display with 570 pixels per inch, colour accuracy and strong Gorilla Glass 5 as some of the assets of Galaxy S8’s display.
In comparison to Samsung’s previous Galaxy flagship, the Galaxy S7, almost every display test and measurement conducted on the Galaxy S8 smartphone showed improvement, according to the report. The lab test results will be beneficial for the upcoming iPhone as Apple has placed orders for OLED panels with Samsung for use in about 70 million iPhones to be released this year.
