SWARAJ CANDIDATE SAYS BJP WON DUE TO RIGGED EVMs

-

New Delhi: Contrary to her party chief’s stand, a 70-yearold candidate of Swaraj India claimed that EVM rigging was the reason behind BJP’s victory in the municipal polls. “I am with Mr Kejriwal on the machines being rigged,” she said. While the AAP has blamed EVMs for MCD rout, Swaraj India chief Yogendra Yadav said that poll results can’t be blamed on EVMs. “I was a councillor from ward 64. I had the support of the educated upper class from my ward. I was sure of a win or may be lose by a small margin. But I find the result all in favour of the BJP,” Swaraj India candidate Ruma Sikka said. “People who had gone to vote in these wards said they came out only for me,” she added. Ms Sikka, who contested from Vasant Vihar ward in South Delhi municipal corporation, polled only 196 votes.
