Harika plays out draw in Round 8

New Delhi: Grandmaste­r Harika Dronavalli eked out a hard-fought draw against higher-rated Mustafa Yilmaz of Turkey in Round Eight of the Rejkjavik Open chess tournament. Harika, who had an opportunit­y to break into the top five in the points table could not breach the Turkish Grand Master’s defence and with time running out, the players decided to share the spoils. At the end of day’s play, the world no. 11 Indian had five wins, two draws and a loss to her credit. With a total of six points from a possible eight points, she is now 15th on the leaderboar­d and is just half a point adrift from the table topper.
