‘EVMs NOT TO BE BLAMED’

- YOGENDRA YADAV

Although the newlyformed Swaraj India failed to open its account in the civic polls, party president Yogendra Yadav accepted the mandate, adding that EVMs should not be blamed. Talking to ATUL

KRISHAN, Mr Yadav said Delhi has rejected chief minister Kejriwal and elected Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Q. Are you satisfied with the performance of Swaraj India in MCD polls?

We knew that more than votes, we would get the blessings of people but at the same time we also hoped that some parts of these blessings would be transformed into votes. We respect the order... and promise to be active among them during the next five years. As guardians, we will carry out our responsibility with complete honesty. I had never thought that the party would win any seat, but we want to make our presence felt.

Q: What is your take on the defeat of AAP?

Arvind Kejriwal should accept his defeat in the civic polls and should not make any baseless allegations such as tampering of EVMs. People will not believe AAP if it accuses the BJP of tampering. They should focus on their weakness.

Q: How do you see this election defeat of AAP?

Arvind Kejriwal had made this election as a referendum to his party and hence people of Delhi should ask him weather he deserves to be in power.
