Kasam team faces low rating woes

- SAMEENA RAZZAQ

Ekta Kapoor’s Kasam has been running on the romance and reincarnation track for a year, and there’s been no drastic change whatsoever in the storyline. While leads Ssharad Malhotra and Kratika Sengar Dheer’s chemistry has delivered as far as the ratings are concerned, the audience seem to have had enough of the stale storyline, and it’s become increasingly difficult to keep them glued. The situation has become grave with the ratings of the show dipping.

Confirming the development, a source from the sets, on the condition of anonymity, reveals, “There’s a lot of confusion as far as the storyline is concerned. The romance angle has been done to death, and the audiences too are bored of seeing it stretched aimlessly. The creatives are toying with the idea of a leap, but they are not sure if the actors will be ready to play father and mother on-screen. They’re even mulling over the reincarnation bit again, but that will mean bumping off both the leads and then introducing them in a new avatar, or even introducing a complete new pair. But the idea seems too far fetched.”

The source adds, “The ratings have become a concern for the makers, as the show has begun to slip down from its current position. The creatives are struggling to come up with a feasible solution that will salvage the situation, as they’re very confused over what to do with the show’s stale storyline.”
