A gang of cheats allegedly duped over a dozen job aspirants on the pretext of giving them job in Baba Ramdev-led Patanjali Ayurved Ltd.
The police said that as many as 12 people have been duped by the fraudsters after they created a makeshift office in Pitampura and cheated gullible aspirants of thousands of rupees.
The Rani Bagh police has registered a case and is on the lookout for the fraudsters.
The scam came to light when the aspirants, who ended up paying money for registration fee and identity cards, didn’t hear back from the company.
It all began when a message on WhatsApp began doing the rounds that Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurved is hiring young candidates.

Following the message, job aspirants contacted the number from which the message had gone viral. There they were allegedly asked to appear for the registration process and interview.
The police said that over 12 candidates, both men and women, approached the centre in Pitampura around three months ago where the fraudsters met the aspirants in a temporary office. They then asked them to shell more money in the name of training and for issuance of identity cards. The innocent aspirants allegedly ended up paying approximately `25,000 each to get trained at the renowned Patanjali Ayurved based in Hardwar. However, their dreams were shattered when months passed but no news of their training came.
The victims then approached Rani Bagh police station in this regard.
On seeing the large number of complainants, police verified the issue with the concerned company. Kuldeep Singh, one of the senior officials at Patanjali Ayurveda Ltd, allegedly told the police that the company didn’t give any notice for recruitment. After learning about the cheat, Mr Singh registered a complaint of forgery and cheat with the Delhi police.
“The victims had approached the jurisdictional police station and a complaint on behalf of the company has been registered. The matter is under investigation and police is collecting evidence against the fraudsters,” said an officer.
