Every year, May 25 is celebrated as World Tarot Day. This day was founded by Tarot Grandmaster Den Elder, in 2003, to exhibit to the world the importance of Tarot cards. This day celebrates the renaissance of Tarot every year by showcasing and encouraging the discovery of the many facets of Tarot. On this day, Tarot readers from across the world come together to familiarise everyone with the positive and life transforming attributes of Tarot. Tarot cards are a secret speech and scripture, a book, an alphabet, a method of predicting the future and a promenade to higher spirituality. Unfortunately, in the contemporary world, they have been relegated to the place of a pack of cards used for fortune telling. To understand the immense power of Tarot, we need to first understand how our higher conscious or intuition communicates with us via dreams. Dreams are a way of communicating with our soul or our higher conscious. In fact, dreams have led to many great discoveries or inspiration for literary pieces. Friedrich August Kekule, the organic chemist, who gave the world, the structure of Benzene, had actually seen the structure in his dream in which he saw a snake eating its own tail. Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s poem, Kubla Khan, was the byproduct of a dream that he had. The US President, Abraham Lincoln, had a premonitory dream, where he felt the stillness of death before he was assassinated. Thus, the power of dreams cannot be diminished. In our day-to-day experiences, we may have also had prophetic dreams, dreams which came true, but we may have just ignored them as lucky hunches or flashes of intuition.

Tarot is a divinatory tool, which can help us enter this world of dreams, the world of our subconscious mind, where we can connect with our higher self to traverse into our past, present and future. Tarot can help us receive messages from our masters, connect with our guardian angels, know our future, make momentous decisions, heal mental, emotional and physical afflictions and cut through grueling patterns of our Karmic cycle. My dear readers, I hope and pray that you understand the life transforming power of Tarot, recognise it as a bona fide spiritual method of self-discovery and divination. T he cards suggest that you are lacking a long-term vision or purpose and, as a result, you are feeling unbalanced. This is a time when you need to reflect on what changes are necessary in your life to create greater purpose and fulfillment. People you are dealing with are proving to be uncooperative or you may feel as though your interests are in conflict with each other. Tap the energy around you to resolve arguments. An oldfashioned argument may be necessary to clear the air and establish new ground rules.

Lucky number: 14 Lucky colour: Pink T his week will be filled with power struggles and conflicts. At work, keep your calm. Accept situations as they are. Also, understand that some problems are too big to try to solve on your own.

If you are in love, it seems that you might be compromising on your own happiness, just for the sake of proving that you are “right”. Do you wish to be “right” or do you wish to be happy? Sometimes you have to let go of your ego and simply accept things, whether you are looking for love or whether you are in a long-term relationship.
