A 62-year-old sex specialist is in dock after he allegedly introduced his daughter’s friend, also a doctor, as his wife to save membership fee in the Delhi Golf Club.

The accused, Harish Bhalla, was exposed when the club found out about the forgery and confronted him. To substantiate his lies, Dr Bhalla also submitted the forged marriage certificate to the club.

According to the complaint filed by the 34-yearold lady doctor, who is a resident of Defence Colony, Dr Bhalla is a sex specialist and helps in drug de-addiction. He runs his clinic in Karol Bagh.

The complainant knew the family as Dr Bhalla’s daughters, both studying overseas, were friends with the complainant. They used to visit each other often. The lady doctor was already a member of Siri Fort Club and played golf there. Last year, Dr Bhalla asked her to get him a membership in Delhi Golf Club.

In her plaint, the lady doctor stated that she learnt about Dr Bhalla’s forgery in February when the club found out about the fraud and confronted the duo. Unaware about what Dr Bhalla had done, when the lady doctor asked him to state the truth and approach the police, he allegedly threatened her to keep quiet or else her career would be ruined. However, the lady doctor approached the police and lodged a plaint. But, the police didn’t take any action.

Now, she has written a letter to the police commissioner of Delhi and has sought his intervention in the matter. Meanwhile, the club has has initiated an inquiry against him.
