- AGE CORRESPONDENT

A conwoman, under the guise of a scribe, allegedly duped an employee working at the BJP headquarters on the pretext of providing a job to his brother at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The incident came to light when the complainant approached the police on May 27 and filed a complaint in this regard.

The police said that the complainant, identified as Santram, was allegedly duped to the tune of `6 lakh by the conwoman. The Sansad Marg police has registered a case and is on the look out of the accused.

According to the complaint, Santram met the conwoman, who introduced herself as Lakshmi, at the BJP headquarters. The accused woman used to frequent the place and trapped Santram by dropping big names and allegedly stating that she knows many influential people. She told him that if someone in the family was in need of a job, she could help. When the victim enquired further, Lakshmi allegedly told him that there is a vacancy at Rashtrapati Bhawan where they are looking for gardener. She said she could avail the forms for his brother, but Santram would have to give an amount of `10 lakh.

Santram agreed and transferred an amount of `3 lakh in Lakshmi’s account. In order to deceive Santram, Lakhsmi sent a forged interview letter to Santram.

When he realized that the woman has conned him, he approached the police and lodged a complaint.
