DHINCHAK POOJA’S NEXT ITEM?

LIVE VIDEOS ARE THE HOTTEST RAGE AND ZENFONE LIVE MAKES IT HAPPEN

- VISHNU ANAND

If the infamous Dhinchak Pooja were to do an encore of the earworm she created (which we sincerely hope she doesn’t), chances are it will not be about taking selfies but of shooting live videos. Scroll quickly through your Facebook feed. Chances are that a fair number of them will be sponsored videos or live videos by your friends and connections. Yes, selfies are still a big thing but slowly, the trend is shifting towards live videos. Both Facebook and Instagram allow you to go live at the click of a button, wherever you are, whatever you are doing. it’s clear that the next big thing in social media is live videos. But there are challenges. Firstly, the camera in your mobile device needs to be good enough to take quick videos of reasonably high quality, especially the front camera if you decide to feature your own face in the video. Second, the sound needs to be clear and distortion free. A video, by its nature is picture and sound and should do justice to both. To enhance this experience, Asus has recently launched the ZenFone Live. Basically, the device integrates with the Facebook and Instagram apps and allows you to beautify your videos onthe-go: You can start shooting your live video and add beauty filters midway. The device also syncs up with your YouTube account. This feature, called BeautyLive, lets you beautify your videos on a scale of one to ten. You can choose the level of beautification depending on time of the day, ambient lighting etc. With a 13 MP rear and 5 MP front camera, the device comes with a soft-light LED flash and an enhanced 82 degrees field of view, allowing you to capture more of the background in your video. On the audio front, the ZenFone Live is equipped with MEMS microphones that capture fine details of the sound while eliminating noise. The final aspect of an immersive video experience is the playback. The device comes with DTS 7.1 channel playback on headphones. Powered by a Snapdragon octa core processor, the ZenFone Live comes in a 2 GB and 16 GB configuration expandable upto 128 GB, and powered by a 2650 mAh battery. The device is priced at `9,999.
