Dipa dons a new hat

In a new role for Dipa Karmakar, the star Indian gymnast will be seen promoting baseball in Bengal.

The Tripura gymnast, who missed an Olympic medal in Rio by a whisker, and her coach Bishweshwar Nandi were on Saturday named ambassadors of the Bengal Baseball Association.

“The Bengal Baseball Association is glad to announce Olympian Dipa Karmakar and Dronacharya awardee Bishweshwar Nandi as our ambassadors,” the association said, on the sidelines of their annual general meeting in Kolkata on Saturday.
