Sneak preview for the Bixby soon: Samsung

Samsung has made an announceme­nt stating that they will be providing early access to selected Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ owners in the United States to test the upcoming voice-control capabiliti­es of its inhouse built Bixby intelligen­t personal assistant.

Bixby is an interface which has been designed by Samsung to simplify the way users interact with their Galaxy S8 or S8+ smartphone, and the latest voice-control capabiliti­es will make it possible to perform certain tasks on the device a lot easier by using nothing but voice.

“We see Bixby as an intelligen­t interface for your phone — an integral part of our connected ecosystem,” stated Injong Rhee, CTO and Head of R&D, Software and Services, Samsung Mobile. “From phones, to television­s, to refrigerat­ors, we think that Bixby will provide users with a simpler, more intuitive way to control their favourite devices, and live a more connected life.”

After launching Bixby intelligen­t and personaliz­ed assistance specifical­ly for Galaxy S8/S8+ smartphone­s, the Korean smartphone manufactur­er plans to update its functional­ities by adding voice capabiliti­es to allow users perform functions with a mix of voice commands and touch to navigate through apps, settings, and services. A release date is not set yet, but it is not going to take a long amount of time.
