-

New Delhi: Students planning to take up management related courses in Delhi University have a reason to cheer. The varsity has increased the number of seats offered under Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis) and BA (Honours) in Business Economics to 1,162 as compared to last year’s 884. The University now has 553 seats for BMS, 136 for BBA (FIA) and 473 for BA (H) each. DU, which conducts a Joint Admission Test (JAT) for admission to these courses, has scrapped the group discussion and personal interview from the selection process this year. As per the revised policy, the weightage given to entrance and class 12 marks will be 65 per cent and 35 per cent, respectively. The two-hour entrance test comprises of objective-type and multiple-choice questions designed to assess the aptitude of the applicants. The eligibility for all three courses is a minimum of 60 per cent in Class 12 including English, Mathematics and two other elective subjects as top four subjects. While the online registration will close on June 25, the entrance test is likely to be conducted in the first week of July. Till last year, the candidates had to take an entrance test followed by a group discussion (GD) and personal interview. The weightage given to entrance exam was 85 per cent and 15 per cent to GD and interview.
