Another mantri ready to risk jinxed bungalow

- AMITA VERMA

Yet another minister in the Yogi Adityanath government is preparing to brave the jinx on bungalow number 6 on Kalidas Marg that is considered “unlucky”.

Nand Gopal Nandi, minister for stamp and registration and civil aviationwho is ready to shift into this allegedly inauspicious bungalow that has brought bad luck on all its previous occupants.

Nand Gopal Nandi said that he had heard of the superstitions about the bungalow and that several powerful people had deserted the bungalow after being hit by bad luck in their professional as well as personal lives but he was prepared to prove everyone wrong.

“I called in some vastu experts and astrologers who said the bungalow was inauspicious due to defects in its architecture. I have taken remedial measures by installing a wind mill and performing a puja. Now, it is vastu friendly and I am ready to shift in,” he said.

It may be recalled that about two months ago, UP minister S.P. Singh Baghel had got the bungalow allotted in his name after no other minister was ready to shift into the sprawling house.

Mr Baghel left the house within one month and claimed that it was too huige for him.

Sources close to the minister , however, said that he was feeling increasingly restless in the jinxed bungalow and nothing seemed to be going right for him which made him vacate it.

Bungalow number 6 that lies adjacent to the chief minister’s official residence on Kalidas Marg, has been occupied by Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh, former SP minister Rajendra Chaudhary, former BSP minister Babu Singh Kushwaha and SP leader Javed Abdi.
