Government to start wall newspapers
New Delhi: The Central government proposes to start wall newspapers “to tell the other side of the story”.
The wall newspapers, to be prepared by the ministry of information and broadcasting, will have a two-page spread and will be printed in English and regional languages.
The object is to project India’s economic development which the newspapers “are not explaining properly”, according to officials.
Officials, however, insist that the wall poster idea did not come from Peking, nor will the paper in any way copy China.
“Our idea is many months old, but now we want to implement it,” says an official.
