- CHARUMATHI GR

A lot has been written and said about detox juices. Weight loss, flawless skin, internal cleansing and improved immunity — the benefits are myriad. But, with varied ways to go in for a detox, which works best? Read on to find out more!

Irrespective of how clean you eat, regular detoxification is strongly recommended. Especially so, for those with busy schedules and who are accustomed to pollution, quick lunch-time and easy beauty-fixes. A lot of us often exceed the threshold for what the body’s innate detoxification system can tolerate, hence flushing out toxins is imperative. So, that means, if you’ve been thinking that you don’t need one just because you have stayed away from crazy partying ways or managed to hit the gym, think again.

One of the easiest ways to get started is by drinking six to eight glasses of detox water a day for two weeks. Once you’re body gets familiar with an organic diet, you may start rustling up actual detox juices. But, as a rule, it is always suggested to begin by hydrating your body. If you’re confident, start with cucumber lemon mint detox water: Throw in one whole cucumber, lemon and a handful of mint leaves into a blender. Now, mix them in 2/3 litres of water and let it stay for minimum of two hours. You can sip this all through the day. Lemon is a great immunity booster, which does a double duty of cleansing and strengthening you internally. The anit-inflammatory effects of Cucumber helps you stay hydrate all day. Mint sweetens your drink without adding sugar and aids in digestion. This also works great as a refreshing summer drink too.

Add grated ginger or a pinch of himalayan salt for additional benefits.
