Police rescues 2 missing minors in separate cases

The city police has solved kidnapping case of two minors — a six-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl — under Karawal Nagar and New Seelampur police stations on June 30 and July 3 respective­ly, the police said on Wednesday.

In the first incident, the police team, with technical help, traced and rescued a 13-year-old minor girl within three hours.

On June 30, a woman filed a complaint that her granddaugh­ter had gone missing from the house around 6 pm. The police took up the investigat­ion and learnt that the minor was carrying a mobile phone. The surveillan­ce unit tracked the mobile phone and the girl was rescued after a long chase.

When questioned, the minor told the police that she had gone to attend a birthday function and when she got late, she was scolded by her grandmothe­r over the phone. Upset over it, she decided

to go to her parent’s home in Gwalior.

Meanwhile in another case, the police team from the Northeast district rescued a six-year-old boy hours after he went missing.

The boys’s mother approached the police and filed a missing complaint on July 3. She suspected that someone had lured and kidnapped her son.

Four teams were constitute­d to search the boy. After making sincere efforts, the boy was rescued from an Id fair near fish farm in Seelampur and was reunited with his family unhurt.

The police said that he had wandered while playing in the street and had reached the fair. No foul play was found in his missing.
