Vyapam: CBI to grill ex- mantri of MP soon
The CBI is once again preparing to examine former Madhya Pradesh education minister Laxmikant Sharma in two other cases pertaining to the alleged irregularities in the multicrore Vyapam scam. Mr Sharma is already accused in several cases, including recruitment of food inspectors, among others.
According to sources, the agency wants certain clarifications from the former minister in connection with the alleged irregularities committed in forest guard recruitment test, conducted by Vyapam in 2013. Besides, the agency sleuths also want clarification from him in the alleged illegalities in the combined assistant programmer, IT operator, data entry operator and computer operator recruitment test conducted by the Vyapam in 2013, they added. He may soon be called for examination again.
Mr Sharma and a former OSD to Madhya Pradesh Raj Bhavan are among 20 accused named in an FIR registered by the CBI to probe irregularities in Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board ( MPPEB) or “Vyapam” recruitment.
Mr Sharma was earlier questioned by the CBI in connection with its probe into the alleged irregularities in the state police subedar, sub- inspector and platoon commander recruitment examination conducted by the Vyapam in 2012- 13.
The CBI on Thursday filed two chargehseets pertaining to the Vyapam scam in the special CBI court in Gwalior.
