MELODY MATTERS
Indeep Bakshi, in a short time, has become a prominent figure on Bollywood’s music scene. The 27-year-old musician composed Saturday Saturday from Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, with the song becoming a club chartbuster instantly. He was also part of the hit remix of Kala Chashma, from Baar Baar Dekho. A chat with Indeep about his musical favourites:
What’s the one song you have on repeat on your iPod these days? Unforgettable by French Montana
If you had to put together a soundtrack for your life—five songs that best describe your life which would those be?
Billionaire. This was my first song so I am very attached to it; 2AM, I wrote this song in Shimla after a break up. This song of mine is very close to my heart; Singh Honde Badshah Kaur Hondi Queen. This is my upcoming song that’s written by Raftaar. This is another party number after Saturday Saturday; Ki Banu Duniya Da by Gurdas Maan saab: I respect him as he is a legend. This song of his touches my soul. How would you describe your taste in music? My taste of music is very classy and urban, as I believe in producing music that has an international flavour to it. I am not restricted to any particular type of music. If needed, I try my hands at desi Punjabi too besides Bollywood.
What’s your favourite time/way to listen to music during the day? There is no specific time, as music is something I sleep and wake up with. In short music is 24X7.
If you could have one band in the world/a musician perform a private concert for you, which one/who would it be? A.R. Rahman sir’s symphony band.
