To accommodate experienced party leaders who were left out of the new team, Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari is likely to accommodate them into 19 new departments in a day or two.

A senior party functionary told this newspaper that these experienced leaders would work to strengthen the party ahead of coming polls. Their appointments are to be made before party president Amit Shah’s two day camp takes place in the national capital.

Sources told this newspaper that the heads of 19 new departments and 10 cells are likely to announced on Tuesday or day after. “Mr Tiwari also met central leaders on Monday at the party’s national headquarters before finalising heads of the new departments and cell. An official announcement will be made before Mr Shah’s camp,” they added.

The new departments are good governance, training, policy research, media, media relation,

political feedback and response, national programme and meetings, sahyog and disaster relief, publicity and literature, legal, party journal and publicity and others. 10 cells shall also be formed. No current office bearers will be assigned any department, as the party leadership is unhappy with their nonperformance. Recently, Mr Tiwari held a meeting with about 60 ex-office bearers and requested them to work as the eyes and ears of the state leadership to strengthen the party. “Mr Tiwari asked all of us to strengthen the party for the future. He urged all of us to share our experience to make BJP stronger in the city,” said a former office bearer who was present in the meeting.
