BE ‘Uni’que!

A decade ago, personal grooming largely entailed hair care and well thought off make-up. But, that was then. Today, it is all about turning up prim and proper from head to toe – and nails are certainly included.

As nail art reigns supreme, so much so, these immaculate designs are peppered with rainbow colours coupled with back to school ideas, Halloween designs and gorgeous gem stone embellishments looking as luxe as your jewelry.

That said, the latest craze on that front is dreamy unicorn nails.

Three dimensional unicorn nails, which give out creases and projections on your nails are having a major fashion moment. Unicorn nails have a gradient, icy looking finish, which exudes a neat yet luxe appeal. Hence, no brownie points for guessing how they definitely are the creme de la creme of fantasy manicures.

The making of this fantasy nail is the 3D swirl. Usually used as the accent nail, this is created using acrylic, giving the nail a spiral texture and shape of a unicorn horn. Which is then finished off with holographic powder flecked with shimmer and gold. Simply put, these are highlight nails. Placing the holograms on these nails add a dimension to these “va mp ari sh ,” rather evil looking nails!

Go the extra mile by drawing clouds with heavily diluted white acrylic paints on the nails, with of course, a silhouette of a unicorn using darker colours.
