IPhone 8 won’t be delayed; new features leaked
Apple’s upcoming iPhone 8 smartphone will enter mass production in mid-September, a new report from KGI Securities popular analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests. In other words and contrary to leading rumours, the iPhone 8 launch is very much on track. Ming-Chi Kuo further claimed that Apple will also be releasing its iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus models next month too.
Apple was also granted a patent recently, which details out how the frontfacing camera along with the light, proximity and other sensors could potentially measure body fat, perform electrocardiogram (ECG) readings and even estimate the user’s emotional state, DailyMail reported. “Electrical measurements may be used to measure heart function, electrocardiogram , computer galvanic skin response that may be indicative of emotional or physiological condition, and/or compute other health data such as body fat, or blood pressure,” the patent reads.
It is presently safe to assume that the iPhone 8 with its camera and light sensor alone, could collect data for oxygen saturation, pulse rate, perfusion index, breathing rate and circulatory conditions. The patent also talks about the use of this technology for a lot more healthbased purposes.
“The health data may include one or more of a variety of different wellness, fitness, and/or other parameters relating to the health of a user such as a blood pressure index, a blood hydration, a body fat content, an oxygen saturation, a pulse rate, a perfusion index, an electrocardiogram, a photo pl et hy smog ram, and/or any other such health data,” it reads. Apple hasn’t provided any official details regarding their latest patent, therefore; it still remains unclear as to what they plan on doing with the same.
