BLUE WHALE Court wonders why adults are playing the game
Expressing over suicides by children linked to Blue Whale Challenge, an Internet suicide game, a Delhi high court bench on Thursday wondered why adults are getting into this game.
A bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and justice C. Hari Shankar asked, "If an adult is told to do a task, why would he/she go and jump off a building.”
The bench asked why both children and adults are playing the deadly game?
The high court, however, refrained from passing any order on the plea seeking direction to Google, Facebook, and Yahoo to take down the links to the dreaded game.
The Blue Whale Challenge is reportedly a suicide game in which the player is given certain tasks to complete in a period of 50 days and the final task being committing suicide. The player is also asked to share photos after finishing the challenge.

Two days ago, the Union ministry of electronics and IT had directed Google, Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, Microsoft and Yahoo to immediately remove the links to the game, which has led several children in India and other countries to commit suicide.
One can understand children being influenced and playing the game, but one can't find enough reasons for adults playing the deadly game, the bench said.
