A man of many talents, Ayushmann Khurrana is now to be seen in Sriram Raghavan’s next, where he will be seen opposite Tabu. And the actor has had a fan moment working with her. “She’s amazing. I’m a huge fan of Tabu,” says Ayushmann. “She’s a wonderful performer and there’s so much to learn from her. I was very excited to work with her because she’s a brilliant actress. I even love her voice. I’m looking forward to working with her again for the second schedule in Pune.” Talking about the film further, he says, “It’s a thriller, and Sriram is the king of the genre. You will see me in a different avatar in the movie. The only common factor between the character and me is that he’s a musician. He has shades of grey for sure. The movie’s tag line is ‘shoot the piano player’.” Ayushmann adds that when it comes to putting together an ensemble, one must look at the actor’s abilities. “I think more than stars, we should have actors. The casting should be on the basis of an actor’s credibility. It enhances the film and all the scenes.” One of the actor’s last release, Meri Pyaari Bindu, bombed at the box office, despite getting mixed reviews. Ayushmann says that the release date was a bit off, since Baahubali was still going strong on the box office then. “The film suffered because of a bad release date, so it’s important to have the right one. I think it would have done better if it had a different release date. We got mixed reactions for our film; some people didn’t like the climax. It could’ve done better,” he concludes.
