Registrations for ADHM thrown open
Registrations for the 2017 edition of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon were thrown open here on Wednesday with a total prize purse of $275,000 up for grabs at the November 19 race.
Making the announcement, race organisers Procam International, said they were expecting over 34,000 participants to take part this time, especially with a new section — a timed 10km run — being added for the first time as an exclusively charity effort open to runners only above 15 years of age. A few slots have been set aside for juniors (15-18) as non-charity runners.
The ADHM this year has received the badge of being a Gold Label race from the International Association of Athletics Federations classifying the half marathon as one of ‘leading road races around the world’.
Vivek Singh, joint MD of Procam International, said, “This edition marks a glorious legacy as we set foot into the 10th edition of ADHM. As sporting entrepreneurs who wanted to get the country lace-up for distance running, it absolutely warms our heart to witness thousands of individuals embrace running, be it competitive or for fun.”
Application forms for charity running places will be available with NGOs registered with the event’s philanthropy partner, India Cares an will close by October 13, or as soon soon as the available slots are filled.
Reigning Olympics marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya won the event here last year.
