Glass half-full for Ribery?

-

Bayern Munich toasted their 3-0 victory over Anderlecht in the Champions League by raising a glass of beer and wearing lederhosens during their official annual photocall.

A day after kicking off their Champions League campaign in perfect style against the Belgium side, the Bayern squad were unsurprisingly in high spirits as they posed for photos in their traditional Bavarian outfits.

Franck Ribery was the only Bayern star not holding a beer in his hands, due to the winger’s Islamic beliefs but that didn’t stop the French winger from enjoying himself.

Meanwhile, Bayern forward Thomas Muller was the centre of attention as he celebrated his 28th birthday alongside his team-mates, with a refreshing pint of Paulaner.

Chile international Arturo Vidal took to Twitter to post a photo of himself posing with the birthday boy and Robert Lewandowski, alongside the caption: ‘Happy birthday brother... German style!’

However, Muller wasn’t the only person grabbing the attention at the photoshoot as the squad were pictured raising a beer to a young female Bayern supporter, who was donning the club’s home shirt for the 2017-18 season.

Despite being the only Bayern star not to be holding a glass, 34-year-old Ribery will be hoping to grab the headlines on Saturday when Bayern face Mainz at the Allianz Arena.
