SPECIAL CELL ARRESTS TWO ARMS PEDDLERS

Two alleged arms peddlers have been arrested by the special cell of the Delhi police for their alleged involvemen­t in supplying illegal arms. The police has also claimed to have recovered 22 pistols from their possession. The arrested arms smugglers were identified as Pawan Kumar (28) and Veerpal (28). To nip the crime of illegally supply of arms in bud, a team of special cell has been conducting regular raids to break the supply chain in Delhi and NCR. Cracking a whip against such peddlers on October 11, specific informatio­n was received in special cell that notorious arms peddlers of Aligarh, who supply illegal arms in Delhi, NCR and UP, are coming near Sarai Kale Khan ISBT under Barapullah flyover to supply arms. The team laid a trap under Barapullah flyover, G.T. Road, near Sarai Kale Khan ISBT. At around 6 pm, a person, who was later on identified as Veer Pal, came there with a bag and he was later joined by his associate Pawan. As soon as Veerpal handed over a cloth parcel to Pawan, both were apprehende­d. A total of 22 illegal pistols were recovered from their possession.
