Metro fare hike: Cong launches rath
The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee ( DPCC) on Friday flagged off ‘ Save Metro Rath’ to protest Metro fare hike.
The ‘ rath yatra’, which was the part of second phase of ‘ stop politics, save Metro’ campaign, began from Akshardham temple.
On Friday, the rath covered more than 13 Metro stations where other senior Congress leaders welcomed it. DPCC president Ajay Maken was leading the rath

He said that both the Kejriwal government and the BJP- led government at the Centre were hand- inglove in the Metro fare hike as both were party to the decision and later indulged in a drama to fool the people.
On Saturday, the Congress rath will begin its journey from the Kanhaiya Nagar Metro station and will also cover nearly all Metro stations.
In the third phase of their campaign, Mr Maken said that the Congress will organise a painting and poster competition for children and professionals at over 50 places in the national capital.
In the fourth phase of the campaign, the Congress will put up hoardings, reading ‘ Meri Metro Mein Hi Bachaon’ outside nearly all Metro stations.
The DPCC president also said that the Congress workers will collect signatures of commuters against the fare hike.
Mr Maken claimed that the Congress workers, supported by the general public, were enthusiastically participating in ‘ Stop Politics, Save Metro’ campaign as they do not want to see the destruction of this people- friendly facility on account of the dirty politics being played by the Aam Aadmi Party ( AAP) government and the BJP- led government at the Centre.
