Madhya Pradesh’s Indira Priyadarsh­ini Higher Secondary School, Uttar Pradesh’s Sports College, Saifai, and Guru Gobind Singh Sports College, Lucknow, advanced to the semi-finals of the 35th Nehru sub-junior boys hockey tournament at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in the capital on Friday.

MP’s Indira Priyadarsh­ini HSS overcame BGSUS Senior Secondary School, Tarn Taran, Punjab, 4-2 in a Pool B match.

Mohamed Rashi (48th minute, 51st) scored a brace while Abdul Ahad (23rd) and Amarjeet Singh (60th) were the other scorers Indira Priyadarsh­ini HSS.

Prabhjot Singh (13th), Gautam Kumar (36th) netted for BGSUS.

Shreyas Dhupe of Indira Priyadarsh­ini HSS was named man of the match.

In Pool C, Sports College, Saifai, thumped Chandigarh’s Government Model School, riding on man of the match Deepak Patel’s hat-trick.

He scored on the 14th, 40th, 58th while his team mates Fahad Khan (54th), Mohit Kushwaha (69th), Nistish Bhardwaj (70th) also contribute­d to the scoreline.

The Chandigarh school’s only goal came from Harpanthpr­eet Singh (28th).

Guru Gobind Singh Sports College got the better of Town High School, Sundergarh, Odisha, 3-1 in a Pool D match, courtesy of goals from Amit Yadav (18th), Sourabh Anand (64th) and Ajeet Kumar (69th).

Town High School responded through Sumit Kindo (40th).
