Panther, Achievers face-off in final

Rajnigandh­a Achievers and Jindal Panther entered the final of the eight-goal Media Agility Entertainm­ent BhopalPata­udi Cup polo tournament at the Jaipur Polo Ground on Saturday.

Rajnigandh­a Achievers beat Delhiites Polo by 10 goals to 8 while Jindal Panther defeated Sona Polo one by 9 goals to 7.

In the first semi-final, Matthew Perry scored six, Bhawani Singh Kalvi and Rakesh Sharma struck twice for the Achievers.

For Delhiites Polo, Basheer Ali responded with five and Samir Suhag with three.

Suhag opened the account while Ali added two more goals in the first chukker.

Kalvi scored the opening goal for the Achievers, while Perry and Sharma added a goal each.

In the second chukker, Perry scored two, Delhiites failed to find the net.

Perry and Rakesh Sharma scored a goal each while Ali responded with two strikes for the Delhiites in the third chukker. In the last chukker, Perry again netted two, Kalvi one for the Achievers.

Suhag scored 2 goals and Basheer Ali scored one goal for the Delhiites Polo.

In the second last four-stage match, Simran Shergill netted seven, Naveen Jindal and Cutinelli Goffredo one each for Jindal Panther.

Sona Polo One's goals came from Abhimanyu Pathak (four), Vishal Singh (two) and Kartikeya Singh (one).
