In another Pool D match, Kollam’s SN Trust Higher Secondary School defeated Mayo College of Ajmer by a 6-3 margin. A hat-trick from Bibin S. was the highlight of the win, after a 1-1 scoreline at half time.
Akhil Krishna K. opened the scoring for the Kollam school, while Aditya Pratap Singh equalised for the Ajmer team.
In the second half, Bibin’s treble put SN Trust School ahead 5-1 and they completed the rout via goals from Adarsh Shanmughan and Pranav T.T.
Earlier in a Pool A match, Shyam Prakash scored four goals to guide Vadodara’s Sports Authority of Gujarat to a 9-4 win over Damodar English High School of Goa.
The winning side took a handy 4-1 lead in the opening half and added five more in a convincing win.
Besides Prakash, Dhruv Patel (two), Raj Patil, Vivek Singh Rajput and Dushyant Kartya scored for the winners, while Damodar High School’s response came from Vithoba Borkar, Shubam Gaonkar, Ishwar Gaonkar and Anurat.
In the day’s last match, Nabha’s Punjab Public School rode on a brace each from Mehakdeep Singh and Gursehaj Singh to beat Sainik School, Kapurthala, 6-3.
Himmat Singh put PPS ahead in the 19th minute but Kapurthala school responded immediately after through Manish Sheron.
The teams fought hard before Mehakdeep’s field strike helped the Nabha school go into the break with a 2-1 advantage.
PPS emerged stronger post the break, scoring through Mehakdeep and Gursehaj (two), while Gursahib Singh added another to make it 6-1.
Sainik School fought back and fetched goals via Sheron and Manpreet Singh but found the gap too big to bridge.
