Singer Selena Gomez became emotional as she opened up about her recent kidney transplant, and the devoted friend who chose to give a piece of herself to her. In their first interview since the transplant, Selena, 25, and 29-year-old Francia Raísa opened up about Selena’s headline-making health scare — and the singer credited Francia for saving her life, reports People.com.

“My kidneys were just done. That was it,” said a tearful Selena, adding, “I didn’t want to ask a single person in my life, and that was the day I came home and I found out that Francia volunteered and did it.”

The pair made headlines in September The Jersey Shore star Deena Cortese married her fiancé, Chris Buckner, in New Egypt, New Jersey, on Saturday. Guests at the wedding included her former costars Jenni ‘JWoww’ Farley, Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino, and Paul DelVecchio (aka DJ Pauly D), Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, Sammi ‘Sweetheart’ Giancola and when Selena revealed on Instagram that she was recovering from the transplant after Francia had one of her kidneys removed for the donation. “I guess I got to the point where it was really kind of life or death. There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raísa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. Nicole even shared a picture of the wedding on the social media and captioned it, “Crew back together for Deena’s Wedding! I LOVE YOU MAMA MEATBALL!!! @deenanicolemtv (sic).”

Deena and Chris have been together since 2011 and he proposed to her last year.

In one scene, Manny shouts, “How big is this ocean?” in dissatisfaction in the movie. Similarly, in the poem, the sailors on the ship were desperately waiting to get to a shore after their ship was overtaken by a storm.

In another scene, Sid also makes a reference to a line from the poem, saying, “Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink”, referring to the line in the poem,
