S. KOREAN ACTOR JOO-HYUK DIES IN CAR CRASH
Seoul: South Korean actor Kim Joo-hyuk, a veteran performer who starred in Hong Sang-soo’s Yourself and Yours and The Truth Beneath , was killed in a car accident Monday. He was 45.
Kim’s car crashed into a wall and flipped over, colliding with another car, local TV broadcaster JTBC reported.
When firefighters pulled the actor out of the wreck, he was not breathing. Two films in which Kim starred have yet to be released. Directed by Cho Geunhyun, Heung-bu is a period drama based on a Korean folktale about two brothers. The film is currently in post-production. Lee Hae-young’s crime action drama Dok-jeon is still in production, but Kim is reported to have finished shooting his part of the film. Both films are set for 2018 releases. Kim was also set to make a cameo appearance in Kim Sung-hun’s Chang-gweol, but he had not yet started shooting his part.
