Positive buzz around Dhanush’s H’wood flick

When Dhanush announced that he would be making

his Hollywood debut with The Extraordin­ary Journey of the Fakir, the entire film fraternity was in awe of his achievemen­t.

The Vada Chennai actor has completed his portions for the film, which is currently in the post production stage. Directed by Ken Scott, the film stars Dhanush, Berenice Bejo, Barkhad Abdi, Erin Moriarty

and Abel Jafri. The movie is

based on the novel The Extraordin­ary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe.

Recently, the first-look poster and the movie stills were released and went viral on all social media platforms. A source in the know reveals, “Many foreign distributo­rs are keen to secure the rights of the movie across the globe. The comedy–adventure film has drawn much attention and the makers are happy with the reception the film has gained.”

According to sources, Sony Pictures has acquired the rights of the movie in July. They will be distributi­ng it in France and in the United Kingdom. Further, the distributi­on rights have been sold in other areas including Italy, Spain, Australia, Japan, Poland, Greece, Israel, Turkey and Portugal.

It is heartwarmi­ng to see him getting such welcome in the internatio­nal circuit, feel the industry experts. The film, which has been shot in English, will see the light of the day in a couple of months.

The story revolves around a magician (played by Dhanush) who embarks on an eventful journey across Europe in search of his estranged father.
