IPhone 2018: Two models to get OLEDs

- AGE CORRESPONDENT

Apple’s groundbreaking iPhone X has just landed globally with scores of fans flocking stores to buy Apple’s latest flagship. While we are still getting settled on to this year’s flagship iPhone lineup, it is interesting to consider what today’s rumours will mean for next year’s iPhone lineup. There are already few rumours floating around about what to expect from Apple for the iPhone X’s successor.

According to a new report from reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple might launch two different phones next year with OLED displays and stainless steel frames. Kuo has also predicted that the company is considering a new design with more elements that would enhance data transmission.

One report from Softpedia says that Apple believes the new iPhone X isn’t necessarily a new generation device, but the beginning of a new decade for the iPhone as a product, suggesting that the future iPhones would be based on this anniversary model and improve its existing design even further by bringing fresh feature.

Further, he suggests that Apple will upgrade the specifications for the new phone but won’t add a rearfacing version of the TrueDepth camera used in both Face ID and the iPhone X’s Animojis. Kuo has also predicted that Apple will ditch the TouchID entirely for Face ID on its next year’s models. The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus could probably be the last iPhones to sport the fingerprint recognition system. Additionally, Face ID is also expected to come to the Apple iPad Pro models sometime next year.
