- UMA RAMASUBRAMANIAN

Former Pakistani singer Adnan Sami, who became an Indian citizen in December 2015, is all set to enthral his fans with a live show. Adnan, who will be performing after a brief gap, will apparently also sing the national anthem during the show.

The singer- musician, who misses no chance to express his love and patriotism towards the country, says that the concert will also be a celebration about being Indian. “I want people to come out for the concert with flags,” says Adnan. “I think it’s a great way to reach out to a lot more people. While we are celebrating the cause of supporting underprivileged children too, there’s yet another beautiful cause of celebrating — being Indian.”

He adds, “It’s not just me celebrating — everyone is. I designed my set too in a manner where I’m going to be encouraging a tremendous amount of audience participation.”

It’s Adnan’s first show in Mumbai since he became an Indian citizen, and he’s also brought in a charitable cause for this. Called World’s Biggest Guestlist festival, around one lakh underprivileged children will be educated as part of this.

On singing the national anthem, Adnan said, “We are going to be looking at the possibility of bringing in all kinds of elements that bring out our patriotism. We definitely want to bring in those elements to spice it up.”

The two- day music festival that Adnan is a part of will be held in the D. Y. Patil Stadium on December

2 and 3.
