In a major reshuffle, Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari on Wednesday appointed 10 new office bearers of several departments and wings.

In the process Mahesh Verma, convener of media department, was sidelined; Mr Verma was facing charges of misconduct.

Former journalist Pratyush Kanth, who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) from Congress a few months ago, has been appointed in- charge of media, social media, website and IT department.

Head of media relation s department Neelkant Bakshi has appointed co- incharge of media, social media, website and IT departments.

There was also a strong demand within the party for removal of Mr Verma after Mr Tiwari received a complaint of against him.

According to party insider, “After almost three weeks, Mr Verma has been cut down to size by Mr Tiwari. The city president has also sent a strong message that there is no place for misconduct in the party.”

Downsizing of Mr Verma established the Delhi BJP unit chief ’ s say in the party affairs, which was questioned by delaying action though complaints were received three weeks ago.

Mr Verma’s closeness with Delhi party unit incharge Shyam Jaju also did not saved him in the reshuffle.

Mr Kanth, a former journalist had contested the Delhi Assembly election from the Kirari constituency as the Congress candidate. He joined the saffron party in the first week of Oct.

Among others Rajeshwar Nagpal has appointed convener of Delhi BJP’s RTI team, while excouncillor Ram Dayal Mahto has been appointed as co- in- charge.
