Christmas season is here and with it comes the wardrobe dilemmas! You’re soaking up the festive spirit but how do you dress this season? Well, designers and stylists say it’s time to tear up the fashion rule book. Instead of going completely “Christmass­y”, experts say that one can go in for unusual colours. Red, green and white can be ditched. Men and women can instead opt for colours such as blue, pink, burgundy, purple, black, brown, etc. In order to not miss out completely on the Christmas feel, one can wear accessorie­s in Christmas colours! Red boots, green scarfs and some bling and you are set to go! Metallic outfits and tuxedo dresses are also great options. Silk, velvet and floral outfits make for good choices too.

Experts tell us more about what one can wear for Christmas balls and casual luncheons. Here’s the rundown on how to look fashionabl­e this festive season.

“A cute gown or frock is always a good option for Christmas balls. However, one can also embrace pastel colours as they will look amazing in winter. Go outofthe- box and experiment with unusual colours. When it comes to accessoris­ing, one can opt for red boots and lace in their attire,” says celebrity stylist Meghana Alluri, who has styled the likes of Shalini Pandey Catherine Tresa.

“Luscious lace and soft, sexy and opulent velvets are completely trendy this Christmas,” says designer Althea K r i s h n a , a d d i n g , “Dresses featuring beads or rhinestone­s that shimmer in the light also look great.” According to celebrity designer Nitisha Sriram, who styles Raashi Khanna, wine and velvet outfits are in this season. “Sequins, glitters and shimmery clothes paired with statement earrings and an updo will look stunning,” she adds.
