Nawaz Sharif slams Imran’s acquittal in tax evasion case, questions Pak judges

Ousted Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday said that the judicial bench gave Pakistan Tehreek- e- Insaf ( PTI) chief Imran Khan clean chit despite the fact that he confessed to his crime.

Pakistan Muslim League ( Nawaz) President said that the PTI chief had admitted he owned millions of pounds in Niazi Services Limited account.

Speaking to reporters here, the former premier announced to start a movement for the restoratio­n of justice in the country.

“We will start a movement for the restoratio­n of justice in the country like we initiated a movement for the restoratio­n of the judiciary once,” Nawaz Sharif said.

The former Prime Minister, who was disqualifi­ed by a Supreme Court bench on July 28 this year said: “A country can only progress if justice is the supreme force in it.”

He added: “Imran Khan has admitted that he owns an offshore company but even then you can see the difference in judgment

Earlier in the day, the former prime minister along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz and sonandlaw Mohammed Safdar appeared before the accountabi­lity court as it continued to record statements of witnesses in the references filed by the National Accountabi­lity Bureau.

The accountabi­lity court had granted an exemption to Nawaz Sharif from attendance until December 11.
