Teacher gets massage from student in MP, faces probe
A government- run primary school teacher in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh has landed in trouble for getting massage from his student.
State school education minister Deepak Joshi on Friday ordered the local district education officer ( DEO) to probe the alleged incident and submit a report to him after a video showing the teacher getting massage on his back has gone viral. “We have asked our district education officer to submit a report on the incident. The teacher will be placed under suspension if found guilty in the investigation,” Mr Joshi told reporters here.
Harishankar Tiwari, a teacher of Banjartolla primary school under Kalkua panchayat in the district, was seen in the video clip getting massage on his spinal column from a Class 5 student during lunch hours.
Later the teacher said that he suddenly got backache and, hence, asked the student to walk on his back for relief. However, students of the school complained before a visiting team of officials from the education department that the teacher used to engage students to massage him in the school frequently, sources in DEO told this newspaper.
“We have recorded statements by students in connection with the incident. We will submit the report to the state government in a couple of days,” a member of the probe team said.
