The Apple 3rd- Gen Watch retains the same design language as the prior two generations. The biggest new feature entry here is LTE, but not on the Indian version. Other highlights are power efficiency and altitude measurement. The Watch 3 has received a faster, and power efficient S3 dualcore CPU, which is 70 per cent faster than the older gen. A new W2 wireless chip delivers better Wi- Fi and Bluetooth and altimeter takes debut, which helps the user to now calculate the altitude or height which affects the way the watch can calculate your fitness. If you climb a flight of spiral stairs, the Watch can now calculate the distance covered accordingly. A storage upgrade from 8GB to 16GB and a voice for Siri is also a new add- on. The display stays at 1.65inches with AMOLED and a 390 x 312 pixel resoltion and Sapphire glass protection.

Using the Watch 3 is almost similar to other smart watches out there, but the experience is much more than what they can offer. You can use it as a fitness tracker, an iPod, a wallet ( not in India as yet) and even a smartphone ( LTE variant only) — almost like a m i n i a - ture iPhone on your wrist, sans the camera. The puny battery can only last you around two days max, depending on the way you use it. However, with the new CPU, you get the same battery life with more features. We managed to obtain almost three days with simple usages such as alerts, casual quick calls, and a few more — no gaming, no fitness monitoring.

The new Watch is aimed at fitness freaks, and without doubt, is presently one of the best wearables money can buy. It can help you set your goals each day to keep you fit at all times and also pushes you to increase your goal casually. Another good feature we liked is that the newly upgraded app will also inform you how much more you need to walk or run to complete your daily goal.

However, everything finally boils down to the price — it doesn’t come cheap. The Series 3 is available for a starting

price of 29,900.
