The Delhi police has arrested former Flipkart delivery boy who turned a vehicle lifter and recovered one countrymade pistol and scooty from him.

The alert police personnel caught the accused, identified as Momin, 20, a resident of Okhala, during picket checking and vehicle checking at 7: 30pm on CV Raman Marg on January 1.

The police said that the police was checking every passing vehicle and at about 7.30 pm, one person riding a Honda Activa came from the Ring Road side. When the police signalled him to stop, he tried to slip through.

However, the picket checking staff chased him and overpowered him.

When the police asked him to produce his vehicler documents, he tried to give lame excuses. Immediately, the police got suspicious and upon a casual search, one country made pistol along with one live cartridge and one Micromax mobile phone, allegedly snatched from Sarita Vihar area, were recovered from his possession.

During sustained interrogation, the accused Momin revealed that he was a school dropout. He said that after leaving the school, he worked as a delivery boy for Flipkart for a while. He along with his associate one Ayan planned to steal a scooty. Ayan arranged a countrymade pistol and they both stole a scooty from Jamia agar.

With the accused’s arrest, the police claimed to have solved cases filed in New Friends Colony and Jamia Nagar. Efforts are being made to arrest missing Ayan. Further probe is in progress.
