Two notorious criminals, including a key accused in a murder case, were arrested by the crime branch of the Delhi police. The arrested criminals have been identified as Praveen, alias Roshan ( 29), an associate of Manjeet Mahal gang, and Pradeep, alias Rahul Malik ( 21), an associate of Rajesh Bawana gang.

A police team has succeeded in arresting the two criminals wanted in a sensational murder case, in which they and their associates had thrashed to death Nitesh Kumar Mehto after a quarrel arose between them.

During the intervening night of December 31 and January 1, a PCR call regarding the quarrel and stabbing of a person in JJ Colony was received at Dwarka police station.

The police said that at about 11.30 pm, when Mehto and Ajit Kumar Shah, witness to the incident and the complainant, were walking back to their homes, an Alto car came towards them in high speed.

They objected by signalling the occupants of the car. At this, the said car stopped and two boys got down. They started beating and abusing Mr Shah. When Mehto intervened, one of the assailants called his friends and they all started beating Mehto.

The complainant saved himself by hiding behind a vehicle parked nearby and raised an alarm. At this, the assailants fled from the spot leaving behind Mehto critically injured. He succumbed to his injuries the next morning.
