Delhi Cong stages protest, demands Kejri’s resignation

Congress supporters hit the roads on Monday and held a massive demonstration at ITO, demanding the resignation of chief minister Arvind Kejriwal following the disqualification of 20 of his legislators over the office- of- profit issue. Led by Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken, the protesters said they had won the first battle by removing 20 legislators and were all set for another battle to remove the AAP supremo.
Carrying placards and banners in their hands, the protesters shouted slogans against the corruption in the AAP government and asked Mr Kejriwal to immediately step down from the post of chief minister if there was an iota of morality left in him.
Besides Mr Maken, Delhi Mahila Congress chief Sharmistha Mukherjee and former MPs Sajjan Kumar, Mahabal Mishra and Ramesh Kumar were also present.
Mr Maken said that Mr Kejriwal, who had claimed his MLAs will
serve the people like ordinary workers and fight corruption, did everything contrary after coming to power. He said that within one year of coming to power, the AAP government gave a massive 400 per cent hike in salaries to its MLAs.
The Congress leader said that half of the ministers of the Kejriwal government had to be removed on account of corruption.
